About the Author
Celebrating a lifetime of dedication to the Hispanic community and the arts in Central Florida.
Born in Santurce, Puerto Rico, Lizette Valarino is an award-winning community organizer and arts advocate with over 30 years of service. From organizing events for local arts groups to serving as Associate Editor for Latino Internacional Newspaper, she has consistently highlighted the talent and passion of Hispanic artists.
In 2000, Lizette founded the Hispanic Heritage Scholarship Fund of Metro Orlando, providing scholarships to local students. She has also supported Orange County Mayors as Special Assistant, improving Spanish-language access to county services.
A devoted supporter of the Orlando Ballet for over 35 years, she chairs the Hispanic outreach committee, Amigos del Orlando Ballet, and remains active as an ambassador, volunteer, and trustee for various arts organizations.
Nine years in the making, a lifetime in the heart.
